Who we are
This is the personal blog of Daniel and Caitlyn Gallagher at thegallaghers.blog. We write about food, life, wellness, and our move from Nelson, New Zealand to the Gold Coast, Australia.
What information we collect
We only collect information you voluntarily provide:
- Your name and email address if you sign up for our newsletter or create a member account.
- Any messages you send us through our contact form.
We do not collect any information automatically beyond standard server logs provided by Vercel and the automated bot-protection checks described under "Bot and abuse protection" below.
How we use your information
We use your information only to:
- Send you occasional newsletters and updates (if you subscribed).
- Give you access to the members-only recipe library.
- Reply to your messages.
We will never sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Bot and abuse protection
To stop automated bots from abusing our sign-in, sign-up, password-reset, and guest-planner forms, we use Cloudflare Turnstile — a privacy-focused alternative to traditional CAPTCHAs. When you use one of those forms, Cloudflare may process technical information such as your IP address, your browser and device characteristics, and interaction signals in order to tell humans apart from bots. This check runs only on those forms, and Cloudflare does not use it to track you across other websites or for advertising. This processing is carried out by Cloudflare under its own privacy policy — cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
Third-party services
This site uses the following services, each with their own privacy practices:
- Vercel (hosting) — vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy
- Supabase (authentication and data storage) — supabase.com/privacy
- Cloudflare (Turnstile bot protection) — cloudflare.com/privacypolicy
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- See what personal information we hold about you.
- Correct any information that is wrong.
- Delete your information from our records.
To make any of these requests, just get in touch via our Contact page.
